🇺🇸 Save the Date - 5.30.21 🇺🇸 - Please join the City of Flagler Beach as we honor those that gave all protecting our great nation. This year’s Memorial Day remembrance ceremony will be held at Veterans Park on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Veterans Park is located in downtown Flagler Beach, at the corner of SRA1A and SR100.Memorial Day, previously known as Decoration Day, became a Federal holiday in 1971 and honors the men and women who died in the performance of their duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces. On May 30th the City of Flagler Beach will honor, remember and mourn those members of our Armed Forces that gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live as a free nation. There will be socially distanced seating available in Veterans Park and although face-masks are not required, they are highly recommended for those that attend this year’s event. For those that cannot attend the event on May 30th, there is a “National Moment of Remembrance” on May 31, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. The “Moment of Remembrance” was first proclaimed in May 2000 for Memorial Day that year, and was put in law by the United States Congress in December 2000. The Moment allows all Americans the opportunity to stop, remember and reflect in their own way on the sacrifices given by our brave Military members that lost their lives defending freedom.Representing the Flagler Beach City Commission, Jane Mealy said she is very pleased that the City is able to present a Memorial Day program as a sign of a slow return to normalcy after having to make many adaptations due to COVID-19 over the past fifteen (15) months. The Commission sincerely hopes that many of our city’s residents and visitors will come to Veteran’s Park to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defending our country. Up-to-date CDC guidelines will be followed. #FlaglerBeach #memorialday ##MemorialDay2021 #FlaglerSurf #ILoveFlaglerBeach #FlaglerStrong #FlaglerBeachPolice #FlaglerEM #FlaglerSheriff #FlaglerBeachRAdio #surf973 #flaglercounty #bunnell #palmcoast ...
