2nd Annual Community Dinner

The 2026 Community Dinner is coming to Veterans Park in Flagler Beach on Saturday, April 18th at 5 pm. This annual ticketed event celebrates the City's birthday with a locally sourced dinner under the stars, live musical entertainment, beer and wine vendors, dessert options and a Centennial Banner auction.

Each $40 ticket includes your choice of an entree from one of ten participating area restaurants: Barnhill's Café Bar and Grill, Crave's Coastal Kitchen and Cocktails, FARO Beachside Eatery, Flagler Fish Company, Funky Pelican, Golden Lion Cafe, Next Door Bistro, Pierogi Shop, Salty Rim Bar and Grill, and Tortuga's Florida Kitchen and Bar.

Online ticket sales are available through Eventbrite.com through March 31st. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, support local restaurants and celebrate everything that makes Flagler Beach a vibrant place to live, work and visit. Scams & Fraud Workshop

Scams are everywhere—get your information from a trusted source. The Flagler Beach Police Department hosted a free community Fraud Awareness Workshop to help residents recognize and avoid common scams targeting their financial and personal safety.

Detective Scherr shared an overview of the top scams happening right now, including romance scams, IRS impersonation calls, grandparent/grandchild-in-trouble scams, fake bank account alerts and more. These scams are designed to create a sense of urgency and pressure victims into sending money, sharing passwords, or giving up personal information before they have time to think it through.

Attendees learned how to spot common red flags, simple steps to protect personal and financial information, and what to do if they believe they have been targeted. The workshop also covered how to report suspicious activity and where to turn for help if a scam has already occurred.

The Flagler Beach Police Department encourages all residents to stay informed and share what they learn with friends, family and neighbors. Protecting our community starts with awareness. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped keep Flagler Beach safe.

Accreditation Assessment

Flagler Beach Police Department recently completed its accreditation assessment, a major step in maintaining high professional standards, transparency and accountability in public safety.

Accreditation is a comprehensive review process designed to confirm that a law enforcement agency is operating in alignment with recognized best practices. A typical accreditation includes an in-depth evaluation of written policies and procedures, proof of compliance with required standards, and documentation that shows those policies are being followed in day-to-day operations. It often covers topics such as training and professional development, evidence handling and property procedures, records management, use-of-force reporting, internal accountability, emergency planning, and overall operational readiness.

As part of the process, assessors may review files and reports, inspect facilities and equipment, and conduct interviews with department personnel to verify compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.



The department expects to receive the official accreditation decision in April. We’ll share an update as soon as the results are announced.

Lt. Schoenbrod Graduates Leadership Academy

The Flagler Beach Police Department is proud to announce that Lt. Mike Schoenbrod has graduated from the Flagler County Local Government Leadership Academy. The 12-week program took place at the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, with the graduation ceremony held on Thursday, February 12th.

The Leadership Academy is designed to develop and strengthen the skills of senior administrators, managers, supervisors and professionals serving in local government across Flagler County. Participants focus on building the leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities needed to effectively serve their communities and lead their teams through the challenges of public service.

Throughout the program, Lt. Schoenbrod demonstrated the same dedication and professionalism he brings to his role at the department every day. The knowledge and leadership skills developed through this academy will directly benefit our department and the community we serve for years to come.

This accomplishment reflects Lt. Schoenbrod's ongoing commitment to professional growth, continued education and service to the residents of Flagler Beach. We are proud to have leaders within our department who invest in becoming better for the people they protect and serve. Congratulations, Lt. Schoenbrod.

Officer Guerrero Named Kiwanis Officer of the Year

The Flagler Beach Police Department is proud to announce that Officer Maria Guerrero has been named the Kiwanis Flagler Palm Coast Officer of the Year. The award was presented at the City of Flagler Beach Commission meeting, recognizing Officer Guerrero's outstanding dedication and service to the community.

The Officer of the Year award is presented annually by the local Kiwanis Club to honor law enforcement professionals in Flagler County who demonstrate exceptional commitment to public safety, professionalism and community engagement. Being selected for this prestigious recognition reflects the high standard of service Officer Guerrero brings to her role every day.

Officer Guerrero has consistently gone above and beyond in her duties, earning the respect of her colleagues and the residents she serves. Her work ethic, integrity and genuine care for the people of Flagler Beach make her a valued member of our department and a deserving recipient of this honor.
